Big data is the next step in further understanding anomalous phenomena from either a skeptical or believing position. To help foster citizen science and big data collection, we developed an Android-based mobile application (‘app’) that measures a variety of environmental variables including (a) electromagnetic fields, (b) barometric pressure, (c) temperature, (d) lighting levels, and (e) gravity. Four different functional modes produce time-synced, distributional outputs that can be time synced with the Survey of Strange Events, general commentary, EVP sessions, and pictures and audio. Demonstrations of environmental analysis and site documentation will be provided in the hope of gathering citizen science investigators to collaborate in collecting large shareable bodies of data.

Can Hypnosis Induce an Out-Of-Body-Experience?

Joyce and Alex conducted a controlled experiment to see if an Out-Of-Body-Experience (OBEs) can be induced by hypnosis. The research, funded by the AIPR, was titled: The efficacy of hypnOBEs in producing veridical psi experiences: A part-replication of Tressoldi’s HypnoOBE study. The study also aimed to obtain evidence of the OBE by asking the participants to identify a target. We explored the questions: Can the hit rates be increased through practice; and are there pre-existing factors which could enhance the hit rates? Joyce and Alex will present the quantitative and qualitative findings.
Dealing with the Ego when becoming a Medium

Cherie will be speaking about the basic underpinnings of a world view and belief from a psychic medium's perspective. The ethics involved with being a psychic medium from a counsellor's perspective will also be addressed. Cherie will introduce a way of perceiving and working with the human ego, the present moment and the responsibility of holding oneself in a certain way during psychic work and general life with spiritual wisdom. She will also offer a guided meditation, for those who wish to participate, to meet a spirit guide and begin connecting with one’s psychic senses.

Poltergeist - The Night Side of Physics is a close-up theoretical and scientific analysis of the activity that took place in the Bothell house, located in a suburb outside of Seattle, Washington (USA). Spontaneous fires, stone-throwing, teleportation, apport, asporting, strange water puddle appearances, objects levitating, strange sounds - it's all here. How is the poltergeist able to perform these machinations? What's the mechanics behind it? Keith Linder a survivor of the Bothell home will be talking about the activity he and his girlfriend experienced. Asking the question? Can quantum physics explain the machinations and existence of poltergeists? Keith Linder believes poltergeists are a third-party entity. Sentient beings with the ability to tap into areas of quantum physics that humans have yet to explore.
Brian Laythe
Brian Laythe, Ph.D. has published a variety of studies in the domains of environmental variables and their relation to anomalous phenomena, the psychological, environmental, and cultural components related to hauntings, and ideological beliefs and their relation to the interpretation and understanding of paranormal phenomena. He is the owner of a forensic psychology consultancy, Iudicium, and Director of the Institute for the Study of Religious and Anomalous Experience (ISRAE). Brian resides in Kentucky, USA.
Joyce Bok
Joyce works as a Psychologist and Clinical Hypnotherapist in Perth, WA. She has a keen interest in parapsychology and the paranormal, having been an ‘experiencer’ for many years. She has experienced Out-Of-Body-Experiences, Astral Travelling, Lucid Dreaming, sensed ‘ghosts,’ seen UFOs and other unexplained phenonema. Together with Dr Alexander De Foe, she conducted a part-replication of Tressoldi’s HypnoOBE study in Melbourne with 25 participants. She is a committee member at the Australian Parapsychological Institute (AIPR). As a sideline hobby, she was an Investigator for the Victorian UFO Action Group, and organizes events for Salubrious Events.
Dr Alexander De Foe
Dr Alexander De Foe is a Melbourne-based Lecturer at Monash University in the field of Psychology. He has conducted research in OBE (Out-of-Body-Experiences), global states of consciousness and the perceptual binding problem. He comes with a deep interest in altered states of consciousness and the integration of perceptual information. Dr De Foe authored the book, ‘Hearts in Transcendence’ (self-published, 2016) and also edited a volume about out-of-body experiences (OBEs) and accounts of body/self-separation, titled ‘Consciousness Beyond the Body.’
Cherie Dupont
Cherie Dupont (aka Cherie Frances) is a medium, living in Melbourne. Ever since she was a child, she has been experiencing various paranormal and Spiritual phenomena. It wasn’t until she was in her 20s, when she realised that very few people had the same experiences as she does with the spirit world! Cherie has been helping people for several years as a medium, passing on accurate and beneficial messages from their deceased loved ones, including pets and other spirits! Cherie has completed a Bachelor's Degree in Counselling and combines those skills in combination with her psychic consultation services. She also runs regular psychic mediumship development circles and performs house clearings. She is branching out into other areas of paranormal research and investigation and is able to lend a unique approach to formalising psychic and mediumship experiences for beneficial purposes.
Keith Linder
Keith Linder is an IT professional - holding over four certifications in the IT space. Hobbies are fishing, sports, football, basketball, the outdoors, movies, sci/fi, proud geek of just about anything dealing with technology. In 2012 my girlfriend and I moved into a house, right outside of Seattle, Washington USA. Weird things begin to happen within days of moving into the modern suburban home. The horrors Keith and his girlfriend witnessed and desperately tried to fight off would end up putting them at odds with members of the paranormal community and themselves. I'm now living between realities now. What I lived through and what I'm willing to share. Robb Tilley of the Australian Institute of Parapsychology Research says "This case is right up there with the most frightening of poltergeist cases: the Enfield Poltergeist, the South Shields Poltergeist, the Bridgeport Connecticut case, and the Matthew Manning case; all well-researched and detailed in various books and documentaries over the years. The Bothell Hell House book is a major work, a turning point in poltergeist research.
